SAC,TAC?
[edit]I believe Bergstrom is now part of ACC, as per the opening paragraph. Please update the infobox to current data. 192.91.173.36 (talk) 16:20, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Nearly five years later, does it look better to you (and watching WP editors)? -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 11:15, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes, Bergstrom was an ACC base when it closed. TAC stood down in July 1992, so Bergstrom was an ACC base for a little over a year. Hildenja (talk) 15:55, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Sally's Hump ??
[edit]I thought I heard the dip in West runway was called by pilot Sally's Hump, both playfully (did she think so?) and respectfully, in honor of the then Commanders wife. Source: Oral recollection from Austin-station radio personality sometime in late 90's after ABIA was operating. I could have even gotten lady's name incorrect. Dip is at 60-67 percentile mark, with 100 being Northern tip of runway. I will look for source. Anybody able to edit actual page if I can get it sourced? (This is my first ever post - of any type to Wikipedia. Pardon any errors - protocol, tos, courtesy, etc.)2602:306:30BF:AE70:A992:AEC7:8887:6EF3 (talk) 12:24, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
>> I posted comment above. I since, and just now, created an account. My email is listed if somebody knows. <<-- hopefully this will be linked to my new email. Bdukeatx (talk) 12:48, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
Rock the Casbah
[edit]"The Clash" music video for their 1982 song "Rock the Casbah" was shot in and around Austin while the band was in town for a concert at City Coliseum. If one watches closely, a 67th TRW RF-4C and a pair of 924th TFG F-4Ds in the Bergstrom pattern make a brief appearance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:801:4280:A710:C041:E7AC:6828:3EB4 (talk) 17:39, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Odd Terminology
[edit]I've never heard of the "Japanese Invasion of the United States." Granted, you might apply that term to the December 1941 Japanese attacks on the Philippines, Aleutian Island Chain, Guam, and Wake, but the term is a bit overwrought and out of proportion to the actual event. It's sort of like calling the German occupation of the Channel Islands, "The Invasion of Great Britain (or perhaps "...of the British Empire").Blbachman (talk) 22:13, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
Missing Major Units Assigned
[edit]The best articles on closed/inactive military bases show the major units under the History section. Here's a good example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Air_Force_Base Does anybody have this information for Bergstrom AFB? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hildenja (talk • contribs) 16:02, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
